This page explains how to request deletion of your CruiseWatch account and the data associated with it. CruiseWatch is developed and operated by an independent individual developer and is not affiliated with any cruise line.
You can also delete individual tracked cruises or alerts yourself, any time, directly inside the app — no email needed for that. This page is specifically for deleting your entire account and all data tied to it.
Once your deletion request is processed, the following is permanently removed from CruiseWatch's systems:
| Data | Retained? | Why / for how long |
|---|---|---|
| Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and performance data (Firebase Performance Monitoring) | Yes | Retained by Google under its own standard retention schedule. This data is tied to a random, per-install identifier, never your email address or account — it is not linked to your account and deleting your account does not delete it separately. |
| AdMob advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data | Not linked to your account | AdMob operates independently of your CruiseWatch account using your device's resettable advertising ID — see Google's own privacy policy for how to manage or reset it in Android Settings. |
| Backup copies in routine database backups | Briefly | Deleted data may persist in short-lived, encrypted backup snapshots for up to 30 days after your request is processed, purely as part of our standard backup rotation — it is not accessible or restorable to your account and is not used for any purpose during that window. |
Everything else — your account, cruises, price history, and alerts — is deleted outright, with no extended retention period beyond the backup rotation above.
